Track No. 1 – DAY 1: David Sibbet & Rachel Smith: MENTAL MODELS for ADVANCED VISUAL FACILITATION

As visual facilitators, one of the ways we can empower our clients is by helping them assess how they think about their organization, department, or team as a system. The mental models that we apply, and that our clients apply, can be subtle or obvious, well-matched or mismatched, helpful or obstructive — but how often do we step back and really identify the models we are using? How often do we consciously shift models in order to gain new insight? This track will explore a variety of mental models for systems and investigate ways we can become aware of when and how we use them, tap into new and powerful models, and explore how to draw on them dynamically in service to the group and its outcomes.
